2014 BMW X5 Front Bumper Bar Sydney
A recent customers experience, walking through the replacement of their BMW X5 Bumper Bar.
the initial damage.
As Mr A, from Sydney, was leaving a car park, he caused minor damage to the left front of his BMW X5 on a timber post. Damage was made to the front bumper bar, the front bumper bar lower spoiler, the passenger side bar bezel garnish & base (silver and black part under the fog light), the passenger side guard, the passenger side guard flare as well as the passenger side front door.
Discovered Internal Damage.
Once we removed the damaged exterior pieces, we discovered there was more damage underneath. The headlamp bar, the front bar absorber, brake cooling air guide and a few more bits and pieces were also damaged. We see this all the time, from the outside it doesn’t look too bad, it’s what’s underneath that can drive the cost of repair upwards.

The Best Outcome.
We guided Mr A to claim against his insurance. This is because the total cost of the parts alone came to $2,772, which was more than double the cost of his excess. The total cost was in excess of $6000. By going through insurance Mr A was obviously able to save a lot of money, though the main advantage was that all the hidden damages that wasn’t obvious until the car was stripped down was paid for in full by his insurer. These hidden surprises can be a real disappointment to an individual when repairing a car privately.
